Role Summary

Karen’s official title is Customer Account Manager but unofficially she is known as the Chief Cat Herder! Her administration and organisational talents ensure that everything behind the scenes at Dyalog Ltd is running smoothly.

Biography

Karen started her working life as a Trainee Perfumer, attending college in London once a week and discovering that you can actually train your nose! When the company closed their fragrance division she started working at a large paper exporter, where her successful determination of the optimal stowing of paper goods into shipping containers saw her promoted to a SysAdmin role. After a break of a few years (for “break” read “having a daughter!”), Karen wanted to return to full-time work, and the role of Administration Assistant at Dyadic Systems caught her attention. She had applied for a number of other roles but there was something about Dyadic that just felt right, and she joined the very small team without hesitation. When Dyadic Systems split into two companies in 2002, she fell into the hardware division and had to move away from APL, but fortunately it was not for too long and she was able to return to Dyalog Ltd in 2009. Karen has now been involved with Dyalog and APL for over 20 years.
