Winners Announced for the 2014 APL Programming Contest

There were an unprecedented number of submissions for the 2014 International APL Problem Solving Competition. Pending proof of student status, the judges have identified the following as winning entries:

 

Grand prize winner: Emil Bremer Orloff (Aarhus Universitet, Denmark)
receives cash prize of $2,500 USD and an invitation to present his winning work at Dyalog’14 in England

 

Second prize winner: Seán Kelleher (University College Cork, Ireland)
receives cash prize of $1,250 USD

 

Third prize winner: Chao Xu (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, U.S.A.)
receives cash prize of $750 USD

 

Honourable mention: Jan-Pieter Jacobs (Universiteit Antwerpen, Belgium)
receives cash prize of $250 USD

 

Honourable mention: Christopher Zhang (State University of New York at Binghamton, U.S.A.)
receives cash prize of $250 USD

 

Winning Professional Entrant: Iryna Pashenkovska (recent Engineering Mathematics graduate of National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv, Ukraine, now working for SimCorp)
receives an invitation to present her winning work at Dyalog’14 in England

 

Phase I and Phase II participation prizes were also awarded.
